15-year-old charged with aggravated assault in Fillmore Drive shooting

Lee County authorities charged Jamarian Donelson, 15, of Baldwyn, with one count of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting that left a person with a gunshot wound, officials said.

Authorities said officers responded Feb. 13 to the North Mississippi Medical Center emergency room after a victim with a gunshot wound arrived. Officers spoke with the person who had driven the victim to the hospital, who said the shooting occurred at a party on Fillmore Drive, authorities said.

Officers and the Tupelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division later responded to a residence on Fillmore Drive as part of the investigation, authorities said. On Feb. 26, after further investigation, prosecutors charged Donelson with aggravated assault, authorities said.

Lee County Circuit Court Judge White ordered Donelson held on a $50,000 bond, and the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, authorities said.
