Arctic air is set to return to the region Friday, bringing frigid temperatures that are expected to persist through the weekend, according to weather forecasts.
Saturday is predicted to be the coldest day, with high temperatures remaining in the 20s, the National Weather Service said. Forecasters warned residents to prepare for the cold conditions.
Fortunately, the intense cold snap is expected to be short-lived, with a warming trend beginning on Monday. Authorities advise residents to take precautions against the cold, including dressing warmly and limiting outdoor activities during the coldest periods.
