The Board of Aldermen voted at its meeting Tuesday night to waive all late fees for utility bills in February and March, the board said.
The board said the waiver follows the impacts of Ice Storm Fern. It added that customers who cannot pay on time in March or April will not be charged a late fee.
Officials warned that service cut-offs will still occur if bills are not paid within the required timeframe of 12 days after the due date, the board said.
Customers with questions about account balances or who need assistance were urged to contact the municipal office, officials said.
