Community Resources Updated: Fire Departments Now Distributing Aid

Community members seeking assistance are advised to visit their nearest fire department. Fire officials say resources are available, with more arriving soon.

Water supplies have been boosted, with 10 pallets distributed yesterday and 19 more pallets expected today from a factory in Jackson, Mississippi. Food aid includes MREs, and Chick-fil-A is providing approximately 3,500 meals daily at the fairgrounds on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Officials are also seeking volunteer food vendors to help prepare and serve hot meals, emphasizing that warm, cooked food offers greater comfort than MREs.

Medical support remains limited, with oxygen bottles available for residents on home oxygen, thanks to the Department of Health. Distribution points include Dumas, Blue Mountain, Three Forks, and various locations throughout the county.

Warming centers are open at all 10 fire departments, offering a place to charge phones, warm up, and rest from the cold. Community members are encouraged to share this information to help those in need.
