Forecasters predict 2 to 5 inches of rain possible in Mid-South starting Monday

Forecasters say a weather system moving into the region will bring a 50 percent to 60 percent chance of heavy rain to the Mid-South beginning Monday.

They said most areas could see 2 to 5 inches of rain, with a lower chance of localized totals reaching as much as 7 inches.

Forecasters added that the heaviest rainfall is expected later in the week.

They urged residents to monitor local forecasts and watches for updates and to prepare for possible flooding in vulnerable areas.
