The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said a Freeze Warning will remain in effect through noon today as temperatures warm into the 40s and low 50s.
The agency warned residents east of the Mississippi River to keep plants covered and take precautions against freezing conditions, according to the service.
The NWS said there is a low to medium chance of another freeze tonight into Wednesday morning and advised continued vigilance for vulnerable vegetation.
The guidance was posted on the National Weather Service Memphis social media account, the agency said.
