Freezing rain has begun falling across much of northeast Mississippi, according to local authorities. The precipitation is expected to intensify soon across the entire highlighted region, which is marked in pink on weather maps.
Officials warn that the area around I-22 from Holly Springs to Tupelo is in the highest danger zone. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and prepare for potentially hazardous road conditions.
