Gas line repair near Ripley and Blue Mountain nearing completion

Crews are nearing the completion of repairs on a broken gas line between Ripley and Blue Mountain, according to a release from the utility company.

To make the necessary welds, authorities will cut off the gas supply around 8:30 p.m. tonight for safety reasons. The outage will affect customers along Highway 15 south of Food Giant from Ripley to just south of First Monday, as well as residents in Palmer and Shady Grove.

The repair is expected to take about an hour. Once completed, gas service will be restored to all affected customers. Utility officials thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the work.
