Heavy snow hits Memphis with rates up to an inch per hour

Heavy snow has moved into the Memphis area, causing reduced visibility and snowfall rates of about 1 inch per hour, according to weather officials.

The snow is expected to continue through 7 a.m., impacting travel and daily activities across the region.

Meanwhile, sleet is now moving into east-central Arkansas and is forecast to begin mixing with the snow during the same period, further complicating conditions.
