Ice Reports Spread Across 14 Mississippi Counties as of Sunday Morning
Ice has been reported on roads and bridges across 14 counties in Mississippi as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to state transportation officials.
The report covers only state-maintained roadways, including interstates and highways, not local roads. The affected counties are Alcorn, Benton, Bolivar, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah and Tunica.
Officials urge motorists to only travel if necessary and to exercise extreme caution. Drivers are advised to give MDOT crews space as they work to manage the winter weather conditions.
For live road conditions, travelers can download the MDOT Traffic app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit MDOTtraffic.com, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
