Juvenile wounded in Tupelo shooting; police investigating
A juvenile was wounded in a shooting Friday night in the 2100 block of Fillmore Drive, the Tupelo Police Department said. Officers responded at about 10:13 p.m. on Feb. 13 after the juvenile arrived at North Mississippi Medical Center by private vehicle with a gunshot wound, the department said.
Initial investigation indicates the juvenile had been attending a gathering at a residence when multiple shots were fired outside the home, the department said. The juvenile remains under medical care and the department said it will not release additional medical details.
Officers searched the residence and surrounding area and collected evidence, the department said. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances and no arrests have been made.
Because a juvenile is involved, the department said it will not release identifying information. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tupelo Police Department at 662-841-6491 or Crime Stoppers of North East Mississippi at 1-800-773-TIPS.
