Lafayette County Residents Eligible for MRE and Water Distribution

Lafayette County residents can receive MREs and bottled water at several distribution sites on Jan. 31 from noon to 4 p.m., or until supplies run out, according to county officials.

Distribution is limited to three days’ worth of supplies per person to ensure equitable access. Sites include the Harmontown sheriff’s office substation, Lafayette High School, Lafayette County Fire Station 3, and Oasis Church. Additional sites are City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson Thacker at Garden Terrace, and locations in Oxford such as City Hall.

Officials urge residents to be patient and respectful, noting that the distribution is staffed by National Guard personnel working to serve the community. Supplies are limited, and distribution will continue until inventory is depleted, authorities said.
