MDOT chief engineer says engineering involves more than science and math

MDOT Chief Engineer Earl Glenn said engineering involves more than math and science, the agency said in a post marking the end of Engineers Week 2026.

In a video shared by MDOT, Glenn urged people considering engineering to recognize the field’s broader demands, the department said.

Glenn also outlined lessons from his career about what contributes to successful engineering projects, according to MDOT.

MDOT posted the video on social media as Engineers Week concluded and encouraged viewers to learn more about engineering careers, the agency said.
