MDOT Civil Rights Division commemorates Black History Month with spotlight on staff

Michigan Department of Transportation is celebrating Black History Month by showcasing its Civil Rights Division and the dedicated employees who work there.

Justin Rawls, who joined MDOT in 2012, is the Programs Coordinator for the Office of Civil Rights. His responsibilities have expanded over the years to include programs such as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Equal Employment Opportunity, On-the-Job Training, Contract Compliance, and Title VI, according to MDOT.

MDOT officials emphasize the importance of the division’s work in promoting equitable transportation practices. They also highlight Rawls’s role in advancing these initiatives within the department.
