MDOT engineers honored at Mississippi Engineering Society meeting
Two Mississippi Department of Transportation engineers were recognized at the Mississippi Engineering Society Winter Meeting last week.
Janie Bass, P.E., the assistant chief engineer for field operations, was named Mississippi Government Engineer of the Year, according to MDOT. Mariette Wientjes, P.E., a roadway design LPA engineer, received the title of Government Young Engineer of the Year from both the MES Jackson Chapter and the state of Mississippi.
MDOT officials expressed pride in the engineers’ accomplishments and their dedication to the profession. The awards highlight their contributions to engineering and public service, the department said.
MDOT did not specify additional details about the awards or the ceremony.
