The Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements along Mississippi Highway 161 in Coahoma County, according to MDOT.

The open forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Clarksdale Civic Center, located at 506 E. Second Street in Clarksdale. The event is a come-and-go format, allowing attendees to view plans, exhibits, and speak with MDOT representatives.

Participants can also submit written or taped comments during the meeting, which will become part of the official record, MDOT said. More information about the project and documents are available on the department’s website.

MDOT encourages residents to attend and participate in the public discussion about the safety enhancements and pedestrian access improvements planned for the corridor.
