The Mississippi Department of Transportation thanked its employees on Employee Appreciation Day, praising crews who work in traffic and all kinds of weather as well as engineers and office staff, the agency said.
MDOT said the workers ‘‘build the bridges and pave the way for our state’s future,’’ and credited them with keeping the agency’s operations on track.
In a social media post, MDOT added, “You truly are the heartbeat of our highways,” and offered thanks for the workers’ service to Mississippi.
The agency closed the message by wishing staff a happy Employee Appreciation Day and thanking them for their work, MDOT said.
