MDOT spotlights civil rights official for Black History Month

The Mississippi Department of Transportation on Monday highlighted Sandra Perkins as part of its Black History Month observance, saying she has worked for the state for 32 years and has been with MDOT since 2017.

MDOT said Perkins served nine years as the agency’s contract compliance and on-the-job training coordinator before assuming her current role.

A Mississippi State University alumna, Perkins now serves as the state Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) officer, MDOT said.

MDOT said it posted additional information about Perkins and its Civil Rights Division online. More information is available at https://bit.ly/3MomThY, the agency said.
