MDOT to Hold Public Meeting on MS 161 Improvements in Clarksdale

The Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration will host an open forum public meeting today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Clarksdale Civic Center, located at 506 E. Second Street.

The meeting will focus on proposed improvements along Mississippi Highway 161, including upgraded intersection safety features and new pedestrian access in Coahoma County, according to MDOT.

The event is a come-and-go format, allowing attendees to view plans and exhibits, speak with MDOT representatives, and provide written or taped comments. These comments will become part of the hearing’s permanent record, the department said.

Additional details and related documents are available on MDOT’s website at mdot.ms.gov/portal/environmental. Comment forms will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on March 4. The department encourages residents to submit input outside of the meeting as well.
