The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) urged fans to drive safely as the start of conference play sends all Mississippi college baseball teams on the road this weekend to face opponents in Arkansas, Texas, Georgia and Arizona, the agency said.
MDOT recommended that travelers download the MDOT Traffic app, which is available in the App Store and Google Play, to monitor road conditions and traffic, the agency said.
The agency also advised fans not to drink and drive and to use a designated driver, to avoid distractions such as cell phones and eating while driving, and to wear seat belts at all times, MDOT said.
MDOT said the tips apply to fans traveling to games anywhere along the Road to Game Day and encouraged drivers to plan for safe trips this weekend.
