Mississippi agencies deliver thousands of relief supplies amid ongoing disaster response

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the Mississippi National Guard are continuing their efforts to provide relief to counties impacted by recent severe weather.

On Wednesday, officials reported the distribution of 96,000 bottles of water, 1,152 meals, 14,000 tarps, 976 blankets, and 288 cots to affected areas.

Chinook helicopters from the Mississippi National Guard have played a key role in delivering supplies. More than 119,000 pounds of aid have been transported by helicopter to support local recovery efforts.

Counties are distributing these supplies at designated local sites to assist residents in need, according to authorities.
