Mississippi agency to text SNAP recipients to simplify account updates
The Mississippi Department of Human Services said it will begin sending text messages to recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to help them keep their accounts up to date.
Recipients may begin receiving texts with reminders and instructions, and the messages will allow users to submit required documents directly from their phones, MDHS said.
MDHS said the texts are intended to help recipients stay on track with important program requirements and make it easier to update account information.
