Mississippi auditor says agencies paid about $5,800 apiece for TV screens, names purchasing manager of year
The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor said state agencies have been buying television screens for about $5,800 apiece, according to a post from the office.
The office also announced that Kathy Perkins, an employee of the auditor’s office, was named Purchasing Manager of the Year, the post said.
The office said such spending sometimes results when a purchasing manager fails to do due diligence to secure the best deal for taxpayers.
The office said it works to ensure taxpayers get the best value and added that taxpayers can “rest easy knowing public servants like Perkins are working on their behalf,” according to the post.
