Applications are open for the 2026 Spring Citizens Police Academy, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said.
The program is for residents of the Capitol Complex Improvement District and is scheduled for April 20-28, the department said. The deadline to apply is April 15.
The department said participants will get a firsthand look at Capitol Police operations, including driver simulation training, a K-9 demonstration, forensic crime scene investigation and a ride-along with an officer.
Space is limited, the department said. Interested residents must apply online at dps.ms.gov under the Capitol Police tab.
