Mississippi Department of Public Safety posts historic patrol photos

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety posted historic photographs Friday that span the agency’s early years, the department said.

The post included an image of instructors at the agency’s first school in 1938 and a 1947 Mississippi Highway Patrol group photo, the department said.

Other images showed an elephant bearing Mississippi Highway Patrol markings and throwbacks to older patrol cars, the department said.

The department posted the images as part of a “Flashback Friday” feature on its social media page, the agency said.
