The Mississippi Department of Transportation opened applications for its paid Summer 2026 Intern Program and said the deadline is March 31.

MDOT said the program is designed to let students apply classroom learning to real-world projects and that interns will receive pay for their work.

MDOT said interns will work alongside industry professionals in divisions such as Bridge, Materials, Information Systems, Roadway Design and Public Affairs. The agency said participants also will take part in a two-day Pursue, Advance, Value, Excel program, known as PAVE, for leadership development and mentorship with MDOT leaders.

MDOT said it is accepting applications from students in a range of fields and encouraged interested candidates to apply online at GoMDOT.com/Careers. Questions can be sent to recruiting@mdot.ms.gov, the agency said.
