Mississippi DOT spotlights engineer on ‘Girl Day’ of Engineers Week

On “Girl Day” of Engineers Week 2026, the Mississippi Department of Transportation released a video featuring District 2 preconstruction engineer Mackenzie Fountain, the department said.

The department said the video highlights Fountain’s work helping move construction projects forward across the state. It said the clip is intended to show girls that engineering is a rewarding field with opportunities to shape their world.

In the video, Fountain describes how she applies her skills to advance projects in Mississippi, the department said.

The department said the release is part of its observance of Engineers Week 2026 and its efforts to promote STEM careers to young people.
