Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fondling
BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A 44-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to fondling charges, according to court records.
Michael Leroy Mace was sentenced Jan. 12 by Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. The sentence is a day-for-day term, with no eligibility for parole or early release, and includes three years of post-release supervision. Mace also must register as a sex offender, authorities said.
Mace entered his guilty plea Jan. 8, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Joel Baldwin. The Booneville Police Department investigated the case, with lead Investigator Corie Gann Robbins playing a key role, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, praised law enforcement’s efforts in resolving the case. The office expressed appreciation for the work of officers involved in the investigation and prosecution.
