Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fondling
BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A 44-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to fondling charges in Booneville. Michael Leroy Mace was sentenced on Jan. 12, 2026, by Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr., who accepted the plea on Jan. 8.
According to court records, Mace will serve the full sentence without the possibility of parole or early release. He also will serve three years of post-release supervision and is required to register as a sex offender.
The Booneville Police Department investigated the case. The District Attorney’s Office credited lead investigator Corie Gann Robbins and officers for their work in resolving the matter. Assistant District Attorney Joel Baldwin prosecuted the case on behalf of the state.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, announced the sentence. The case highlights ongoing efforts to address sexual offenses in the area.
