Mississippi MDOT Hosts Annual Equipment Operators Roadeo in Yazoo City

The Mississippi Department of Transportation hosted its annual Equipment Operators Roadeo for District 3 at the district headquarters in Yazoo City on Thursday, March 19.

Commissioner Willie Simmons, chairman of the Mississippi Transportation Commission, praised the workers’ dedication. “It is always great to celebrate the skills our frontline workers perform on the job daily. No matter the project or weather, I greatly appreciate their dedication to keeping our roadways safe,” Simmons said.

Simmons emphasized the importance of safety and skill development. “Our crews are working hard to fine-tune their skills. As drivers, please do your part by slowing down and being alert for these crews so that we all get home safely each day,” he added.
