Mississippi Office of the State Auditor Passes Out-of-State Audit
JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor announced it has passed an audit conducted by an out-of-state private CPA firm, EisenRamper LLP, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
State Auditor Shad White said the audit was commissioned last year by the Mississippi Legislature’s PEER Committee, which allocated funds for the review. White stated he did not request the audit but welcomed it and described the results as exceptionally clean.
“The audit came back so clean you could eat your supper off of it,” White said. “The credit goes to the men and women who work at the Auditor’s Office.”
White noted that despite receiving $1 million less from the general fund last year, his office continues to operate effectively and efficiently. He emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency in government operations.
