Mississippi reports 37 counties with ice on roads as winter weather persists

As of 9 p.m. Jan. 25, 2026, 37 counties in Mississippi reported ice on roads and bridges, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

Counties with ice reports include Adams, Alcorn, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Claiborne, Coahoma, Copiah, DeSoto, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Leflore, Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Warren, Washington, Yalobusha and Yazoo.

MDOT urges drivers to exercise extreme caution and recommends traveling only for emergencies in affected areas. Officials warn that black ice may form overnight, creating dangerous conditions. Motorists are encouraged to check the latest road conditions via the MDOT Traffic app or at MDOTtraffic.com.
