Mississippi State Auditor Comments on DiBiase Trial Outcome

JACKSON, Miss. — State Auditor Shad White issued a statement Monday following the conclusion of the DiBiase trial. White said he was disappointed in the trial’s outcome but highlighted that seven individuals have already pleaded guilty to state or federal charges related to the welfare scandal.

White added that he hopes the state’s lawyers will recover as much of the misspent money as possible through civil court proceedings. He emphasized that taxpayers deserve accountability for the alleged misuse of funds.
