Mississippi State Fairgrounds Armory Opens for Storm Relief Donations

Mississippi Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson announced that the old National Guard Armory on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds will open to receive donations for those impacted by the winter ice storm.

The Armory will be open today, Monday, January 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, according to Gipson’s office.

Donations include bottled water, nonperishable food items such as canned goods and soup, can openers, baby diapers and formula, propane cook stoves, propane bottles, and basic paper products. The supplies will be delivered to North Mississippi once roads are safe for travel, officials said.
