Mountain Campus Restores Water Supply After Storm Damage

The mountain campus announced Friday morning that it has restored water service following recent storm damage. However, the return of water has resulted in damage to some buildings, including Fisher-Washburn and the SUB, according to a statement from President Barbara C. McMillin.

Immediate measures were taken to mitigate the damage, and steps are underway to facilitate a quick recovery. The campus also welcomed two crews from the Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief ministry and Monroe County Emergency Management Agency to assist with debris removal and tree cleanup.

President McMillin expressed gratitude for the relief teams and asked for continued prayers for their safety. She also announced that online classes will resume Monday, Feb. 2, and administrative staff able to return to campus will do so on the same date. Further updates on student return and on-campus reopening will be provided at least 48 hours in advance.

The campus community is thanked for its ongoing support and prayers during the recovery process.
