National Weather Service in Memphis warns of strong winds, low tornado risk Thursday

The National Weather Service in Memphis warned that strong southerly winds on Thursday will make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles, especially along and west of the Mississippi River, the agency said.

The office said the strongest winds are expected along and west of the Mississippi River.

The National Weather Service in Memphis said there is a low risk of severe weather late Thursday afternoon into the evening, including damaging winds and a brief tornado.

The agency posted the advisory through its office in Memphis.
