National Weather Service issues significant fire danger for most of Mississippi
The National Weather Service issued a significant fire danger for most of Mississippi Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the agency said.
The agency warned that open burning should not be attempted because fires are more likely to spread under the expected conditions, the National Weather Service said.
The National Weather Service urged residents to follow local burn bans, secure tow chains and dispose of cigarettes properly.
