The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that #SafePlaceSelfie Day will be Wednesday, April 8 and urged people to share photos of their designated safe places for riding out extreme weather, the agency said.
NOAA asked people to take a picture from their safe place and post it with the hashtag #SafePlaceSelfie to inspire others, the agency said.
The campaign is intended to encourage preparedness by prompting people to identify and publicize safe locations, NOAA said.
