NOAA urges people to post photos for #SafePlaceSelfieDay

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration urged people to photograph their safe place to ride out extreme weather and share the images tomorrow using the hashtag #SafePlaceSelfie, the agency said.

β€œTake a picture from your safe place and share it tomorrow with #SafePlaceSelfie to inspire others,” NOAA said in its announcement.

NOAA said it has examples of safe places for different weather hazards available online. The agency directed people to its Safe Place Selfie page at https://www.noaa.gov/safeplaceselfie for more information.

NOAA attributed the campaign to public outreach and preparedness efforts and encouraged participation to help others identify appropriate shelter in severe weather situations, the agency said.
