Northeast Mississippi Community College officials meet in Jackson to discuss America’s Talent Strategy

Laurie Kesler, director of adult education, and Kim Smith, assistant director at Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC), were in Jackson this week to meet with program directors from across Mississippi to explore the Five Pillars of America’s Talent Strategy, the college said in a social media post.

The Mississippi Office of Adult Education team provided insight during discussions about innovative ways to help students build skills for current jobs and future opportunities, the post said.

The visit also included a day at the Mississippi Capitol, where state staff and local program directors gathered to advocate for adult education, highlight work happening across the state and thank the Mississippi Legislature for continued support, according to the post.

NEMCC Adult Education expressed appreciation for the support of President Ricky Ford and for state and local representatives, the post said.
