NWS Memphis urges preparedness as severe weather reported in all 50 states

The National Weather Service office in Memphis, Tennessee said tornadoes, large hail, strong winds, heavy rain and lightning are hazards associated with severe weather and that severe weather has been reported in all 50 states.

In a social media post, the office urged people to make sure they are prepared no matter where they are. The post included the hashtag #TNSevereWeatherAwarenessWeek.

For safety guidance, the post linked to the agency’s thunderstorm safety page at weather.gov/safety/thunderstorm.

The office reminded the public that those hazards can occur quickly and encouraged following local forecasts and warnings from the National Weather Service.
