NWS Memphis Urges Sharing of Tornado Safety Information During Awareness Week
The National Weather Service office in Memphis, Tennessee urged residents to share tornado safety information in a social media post, saying helping others plan and prepare could save lives.
The office advised people to help neighbors, friends and family prepare “just like you have,” and to work with anyone who lacks suitable shelter to find a safe place to go, according to the post.
The message was posted as part of Tennessee Severe Weather Awareness Week, the post indicated, using hashtags associated with the campaign.
The office encouraged people to pass along safety information and assist those who may not have immediate shelter options, saying doing so could be life‑saving, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
