Rain returns Tuesday night as cold front moves through region

Rain is expected to return to the region Tuesday night as a cold front moves through, according to weather officials.

The front is expected to bring scattered showers and possibly thunderstorms, with rainfall periods lasting into Wednesday morning.

Forecasters advise residents to prepare for wet conditions and potential localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas.

The cold front will also bring cooler temperatures, with highs dropping into the 60s and 70s, the National Weather Service said.
