Rainfall totals for the weekend are trending downward, with forecasters now predicting between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain, according to local weather sources.
While the weekend remains wet, the threat of organized severe weather has diminished. The setup for the weekend favors a few claps of thunder and isolated strong storms, primarily Saturday evening, the National Weather Service said.
Residents are advised to stay alert for possible thunderstorms but can expect less widespread rainfall than initially forecast.
