The American Red Cross will open a warming shelter at 7 p.m. tonight at First Baptist Church in Ripley, according to the organization. The shelter is open to all and requires no registration or identification.
Pets are welcome as long as they are in crates. The Red Cross will provide blankets, cots, food, water, and snacks. Individuals are encouraged to bring personal comfort items such as bedding, pillows, or sleeping bags.
The organization is also seeking volunteers to staff the shelter. A volunteer sign-up link will be shared for those interested in helping. The link can be found at here.
