Ripley group credits beautification partnership for cleaner Tippah County roads
A county and state road beautification program has reduced litter on roads across Tippah County over the past year, Ripley Main Street said.
Ripley Main Street said the effort was inspired by the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s statewide program and that a local partnership allowed cleanup to expand onto county roads with help from sponsors.
The group said the program received support from sponsors, the Tippah County Board of Supervisors, the Tippah County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
Ripley Main Street said litter remains on many roads and that keeping the county clean is an ongoing effort, but the group said it has seen steady progress and looks forward to continuing the work this year.
