Saltillo man arrested after multi‑pound marijuana, hydrocodone seizure, police say

Octavious Nathaniel Coleman was arrested Feb. 10 and charged with felony trafficking of marijuana and felony possession of hydrocodone after agents said they found drugs in his vehicle and at a Saltillo residence, the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit said.

The unit said agents stopped a 2022 Ford Bronco for an equipment violation on N. Gloster St. in Tupelo and contacted the driver, Coleman. The unit said probable cause developed during the stop and a search of the vehicle turned up about 1 pound of alleged marijuana and several dosage units of alleged hydrocodone.

According to the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, agents then executed a search warrant at a Mandi Drive residence in Saltillo. The unit said investigators found more than 15 pounds of alleged marijuana, additional dosage units of alleged hydrocodone, two firearms and $76,970 in U.S. currency.

The Tupelo Police Department identified the suspect as Octavious Nathaniel Coleman, 38, of Saltillo, and said Lee County Justice Court Judge Marilyn Reed denied bond because Coleman was out on a felony bond for a previous charge at the time of his arrest. The department said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
