Social media post urges sober rides ahead of St. Patrick’s Day

A social media post urged people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day to plan a sober ride before drinking and warned against driving under the influence, the post said.

The post said “safety isn’t luck” and told readers to “keep your pot o’ gold, and skip the DUI tonight, y’all,” urging them to “find your sober ride BEFORE drinking if you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!”

The message used lighthearted references to shamrocks, leprechauns and Irish dancing while drawing “the green line” at drunk driving, the post said.

The post also included hashtags such as #StPatricksDay, #DriveSober, #BuzzedDriving and #DriveSmartMS.
