State auditor tours Aberdeen port, meets local leaders

State Auditor Shad White visited North Mississippi this week, touring the Aberdeen Port and meeting with local officials, the State Auditor’s Office said.

White met with peanut farmer Brian Atkins and Aberdeen Mayor Dwight Stevens, who showed him the port, the office said.

He later met with Sheriff Kevin Crook and members of his staff to discuss ways the State Auditor’s Office could assist local law enforcement, the office said.

The State Auditor’s Office posted photos of the visits, the office said.
