State Route 18 in Quitman closed for emergency sewer repairs

State Route 18 in Quitman was closed March 24 for emergency sewer line repairs, the Mississippi Department of Transportation said.

The closure affects the route at Case Avenue, Dogwood Avenue, Brock Avenue and Pecan Circle in the city of Quitman in Clarke County, MDOT said.

MDOT said the work is expected to last about one week or until city crews complete repairs. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes and MDOT posted a traffic map on its website, the agency said.
